Former Astros manager, Jimy Williams, dies at 80

HOUSTON – Jimy Williams, a former Astros manager, has died at the age of 80, the baseball team announced Monday.

Williams went 910-790 in 12 seasons managing the Toronto Blue Jays (1986-89), Red Sox (1997-2001) and Houston Astros (2002-04).

According to the Boston Red Sox, he died in Florida after suffering from an illness.

Williams is survived by his wife Peggy, four children and eight grandchildren.
