Big congrats to KPRC 2’s “Eat Like a Local” team for their Lone Star Emmy win exploring Houston’s Pakistani food scene

HOUSTON – It was an incredible weekend for our co-workers who were honored at the Lone Star Emmy Awards — including our friends from the “Eat Like a Local” team.

Big congratulations to host Chris Shepherd, producer Christie Schultz, photojournalist Enrique Ramirez, audio engineer Eugene Smith and drone videographer Wladimir Moquete for the show’s second Emmy win.

The winning episode took us into Houston’s Pakistani food scene, featuring two popular spots: Aga’s Restaurant and Bismillah.

Unlike his past culinary adventures, Chris wasn’t very familiar with Pakistani restaurants or culture. So, he brought along Burger Bodega owner and friend Abbas Dahani to guide him through this new food scene, tasting dishes like a true foodie.
