Man killed, woman shot multiple times at Baytown apartments

Police look for person in black car

BAYTOWN, Texas – A man was killed, and a woman was injured Friday in a double shooting in Baytown.

Baytown police are looking for a person of interest in connection to the shooting.

The name of the person who police said drove away in a black car has not been released.

Police were called just before 5 a.m. to The Bridge at Shady Hill Apartments in the 3400 block of Shady Hill for reports of a shooting.

Investigators said someone kicked in the door of apartment 76B, confronted Lloyd Trim, 38, and Jasmine Gonzales, 20, and shot them both multiple times.

The Trim, who lived in the apartment, was pronounced dead, police said.

Gonzales was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She was listed in stable condition.

"I drove like 80 miles from Garth to get here to my kids, what if one of those bullets would have went and hit my sister or my kids?" Neighbor Kristin Trajo said.

Her sister and her kids were inside the apartment next door when the shooting happened.

"I heard arguing. I just heard banging and I woke up and went to the room with the babies. And then I heard more banging and then it stopped," Shayann Trajo said.

From Sky 2, officers could be seen searching the second-floor apartment and placing markers on the ground next to shell casings.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation, but police said they believe Trim and Gonzales were targeted.

"We're not sure at this point, only because the home invasion-type call we had, and they were shot for some reason. It's unknown right now," Detective Edgar Elizando said.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the person in the black car is asked to call police.
