Fatal shooting in northwest Houston possibly gang-related, police say

HOUSTON – Police are investigating a deadly shooting in northwest Houston as potentially gang-related, Houston police said.

The shooting left one man dead after six men met up for a "transaction" on Saturday, Houston police say.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mount Street and Glenn Avenue.

One car containing three men were going to meet up in one vehicle and another vehicle driven by another set of three men approached, said Sgt. Joel Burton with Houston Police Department's Homicide Unit.

All six of the men were armed and started shooting at each other, according to witnesses.

One man died at the scene. That man has not yet been identified and it is unclear why the men were meeting. The gunmen are described as three black males  possibly driving a gray Dodge Avenger or a Dodge Charger.

There is a possibility that someone else could be wounded from the shooting and police are asking the public to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
