PORTER, Texas – More than a dozen people lost their belongings Thursday morning when a massive fire broke out at a storage facility in Porter.
The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at the Kingwood Boat RV Storage on Kelly Road north of East Knox in Porter.
Authorities said 15 units were destroyed.
There were no fire hydrants in the area. Firefighters had to bring in water from dump tanks to extinguish the blaze.
One person suffered minor burns to their hands and was treated at the scene.
A second alarm brought in Houston, East Montgomery County, Needham and Caney Creek Fire Departments.
The fire was extinguished about 90 minutes later, according to the Porter Firefighter Department.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
