2 adults, 2 children killed in apparent murder-suicide inside Katy-area home, deputies say

Candles burned Tuesday night as friends of the Srinivasan family gathered in the Grayson Lake Clubhouse for prayers and to remember four lives needlessly lost.

"Dear Heavenly Father, today is one of those days where we feel completely lost,” the minister said.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said two adults and two children were found dead inside a Katy-area home after an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday morning.

The bodies were found around 8:30 a.m. inside a home in the 1300 block of Longdraw Drive in the Grayson Lakes subdivision, near Cinco Ranch. Authorities said they found Jeremy Raju Srinivasan, 37, his wife, Natalie Altier Srinivasan, 35, and their children, a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, dead from gunshot wounds.

A family friend identified the children as the couple's son M.J. and their daughter Sienna, who would have turned 6 this month.

"Oh my goodness it's terrible. I've got a granddaughter in bed sobbing. A grandson upstairs just staring at the wall. Kids are just devastated. They don't understand. The chaplain has been over and that has been very helpful. It's hard to explain that to a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old when they see these kids every day and play with them," neighbor Barbara Loven said.

Neighbors and friends are left baffled as police search for answers.

"She was somebody that would do anything that anybody needed. She was very spiritual. If I had problems I would call her and she would send me Scriptures, come take me out and anything that you needed," friend Tracee Dugal said.

Sheriff’s investigators were trying to piece the story together to better understand why these lives were taken so soon.

"We're interviewing neighbors and family members and others to try to piece together exactly what took place here. We're investigating this right now as a murder-suicide," Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said. "Anytime you have children involved like this. It hits close. It's hard."
