HOUSTON – Two men were found lying on the ground outside the El Chente sports bar, police said.
The manager of the El Chente heard gunshots outside his sports bar around 2 a.m. Saturday, according to authorities.
The manager walked outside and found two dead men on the ground and a nearby utility pole possibly damaged by a speeding getaway car, police said.
Upon investigation police said they found 11 shell casings on the ground; no witnesses or shooters were found.
Family members identified the two men as Jorge Lagunes Manzanilla and Miguel Anzures.
Manzanilla had four children and Anzures had children living in Mexico, family said.
Police are unsure what the motive for the shooting was, but the nearby gas station surveillance video may lend some answers.
