Emmy-award winning reporter Amy Davis is passionate about helping people.
Her persistent pursuit of justice has landed scam artists in prison, changed state laws and city ordinances, and has resulted in businesses refunding thousands of dollars owed to customers who couldn't otherwise get their money.

Amy is a native Houstonian and thinks it's pretty cool that she lives just miles from the hospital where she was born. She attended Aldine Senior High School and the University of Houston, where she majored in Journalism and received a minor in Political Science.
Amy is a long-time member of Investigative Reporters & Editors.
Her investigations have won accolades and honors from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, Society of Professional Journalists, the Houston Press Club, the Harris County Medical Society and the Lone Star Emmy Chapter.
After Amy started her TV news career as an intern at KPRC 2 News, she went on to work as an anchor and reporter in Beaumont, Asheville, North Carolina, and San Antonio before she came back home to KPRC 2 in May 2005.
People always ask Amy if she has a favorite story. Actually, she has two.
While in Beaumont, Amy reported on racial discrimination at a small town swim club. Her investigation got the attention of the Justice Department, which promptly closed the pool. The story also won her the 1998 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Award for Best Investigative Report.
In Asheville, she uncovered deplorable living conditions at an assisted living facility. The state fined the business and moved many of the residents to more appropriate homes.
Amy said the best part of her job is helping people, righting wrongs, exposing wrongdoing and letting the little guy's voice be heard.
"I love asking the questions viewers at home are shouting at their TVs," she said.
Amy is married with a son, Jackson Five, and has two cats named Bear and Grover.
When not reporting, Amy likes to -- um -- who are we kidding? She's always reporting!
