HOUSTON – Friday is a big day in Houston history. It marked the end of an era for families.
Ten years ago, we said goodbye to Six Flags Astroworld.
The beloved southwest Houston theme park closed after 37 years in October 2005.
It was known for some of its iconic rides like the Texas Cyclone, Ultra Twister and Greezed Lightnin'. They were either demolished or relocated to other amusement parks.
The site across NRG Stadium now sits empty and is primarily used for parking during the rodeo.
