Jogger finds body floating in southeast Houston pond

Police do not suspect foul play

HOUSTON – Police were called Thursday to a pond in southeast Houston after a body was found floating in the water.

The body of Gordon Scott Blocker, 42, was found around 5:15 a.m. in the 10200 block of Wind Mill Lakes. Police said he was found with his wallet and ID in his pocket.

Investigators said a jogger passing by saw the body and called police.

The Houston Police Department marine unit was called in to remove the man from the water.

A woman who lives in the area said the body of water where the man was found backs up to The Reserve and The Breakers apartments. Police believe the man lived nearby. 

Police do not suspect foul play.

His cause of death is pending an autopsy.
