HOUSTON – A man's body was found Tuesday morning in a drainage canal in southwest Houston.
The body was found in a drainage canal in the 6300 block of Westpark and Southwest Freeway.
Houston police said officers were initially called at 6:40 a.m. by someone who was walking to work and spotted the body, believing the man may have drowned. Officers found the body of 40- to 50-year-old Hispanic man at the scene.
"At first glance at the scene, the body doesn't appear that foul play was involved," said Houston police Sgt. Anthony Turner. "It doesn't appear that the body was in the water for a long period of time."
Investigators are working to identify the man and determine how he died.
