'Cowboy Bandit' wanted by FBI after robbing Houston bank

HOUSTON – The FBI is asking for the the public's help in identifying the "Cowboy Bandit," who threatened and robbed tellers at an Amegy Bank of Texas in Houston over the weekend.

The FBI said the robber slipped a teller a demand note at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the bank located at 2105 Taylor Street. That note claimed the robber had a gun, but no weapon was ever seen by witnesses.

The FBI said the robber was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank. No one was injured during the robbery.

Officials described the man as black, in his early 30s and about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He has black hair and a black beard.

The man was dressed like a cowboy with a brown leather hat, white button-down long-sleeved shirt and sunglasses.
