HOUSTON – Residents in the Third Ward escaped a massive apartment fire Friday morning.
The fire started just after midnight at a complex on Burkett and Winbern.
Firefighters arrived and found flames shooting from the roof of the building. They had to set up a ladder truck to help fight the fire.
All four units in the complex were destroyed, officials said.
All the residents made it out safely. One person was taken to the hospital for anxiety-related issues.
The Houston Fire Department Arson Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
