Fire reported at downtown Houston building

HOUSTON – A fire was reported Monday at an office building in downtown Houston.

Several social media posts showed thick smoke rising from a building in the area of Fannin and Bell streets.

Chris Hisle, who shared a picture on Twitter of larges flames and black smoke at the scene, said the building was located near the Masonic Temple. He said firefighters quickly arrived.

KPRC 2 reporter Haley Hernandez said a firefighter appeared to have been injured at the scene. Officials said the firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It was not immediately clear what started the blaze.
