HOUSTON – Stabbing victim Anastacia Oaikhena-Lambert was laid to rest in Houston on Saturday.
"I am very happy that I can come and do this for her," Anastacia's sister Anita Oaikhena said.
Most of Oaikhena-Lambert's family live abroad and couldn't make it to her funeral Saturday. The ones who were there took pictures and video to share with those absent when they returned home.
"Up to now, it's like hell," Anita Oaikhena said. "Up to this very moment."
Bt what they lacked in numbers, they made up for in love, tenderness and support. Oaikhena-Lambert's family desperately wants justice for the woman they say was stabbed to death by her husband Patrick Lambert and then stuffed into a refrigerator.
"He's greedy," Anita Oaikehna said. "He's selfish. He's self-centered."
Lambert fled to Mexico with his 11-month-old son after the boy's mother was found dead Dec. 8. Lambert was arrested on Dec. 15.
The boy remains in the care of Mexican authorities. Anita says she is working to get the boy back to the U.S. and back with his family.
"By the grace of God, I will take the son," she said. "I will take him because he is my sister's son. He cannot go to Patrick Lambert's family. God forbid."
There is no word yet on when that baby will be returned from Mexico. Anastacia Oaikhena-Lambert was laid to rest in Houston on Saturday.
