Houston ranks 6th on best food trucks list

H-Town comes in ahead of Austin

HOUSTON – The food truck craze is in full effect in Houston, and now our city is getting recognized for it.

According to Food Truck Nation, Houston ranks sixth on a list of best cities for food trucks.

Houston was ranked above Austin on this list, which most H-Town foodies will wear as a badge of honor.

The report's indexes looked at obtaining permits and licenses, complying with restrictions and operating a food truck. Houston ranked ninth, sixth and seventh, respectively, on those indexes.

    The study said despite Houston scoring well in every category, there are concerns, saying about Houston "the 21 food truck owners who responded to our survey cited zoning and proximity as below average (2.9 and 2.8, respectively, with 5 as positive) while giving government low marks."
