Her career has also taken her to Cadillac, Michigan, Flint, Michigan, and Detroit.

Jennifer started out in Michigan because it was home. She was born in Dearborn, just outside Detroit.

This Michigan native also got her journalism degree from Michigan State University.

"I am a huge MSU fan. On weekends, you can often catch me cheering on the Spartans," she said.

Jennifer loves her job because "it's never boring."

"Every day is different. I truly love what I do and am passionate about reporting. I wanted to be a news reporter since I was 12 years old. I'm living my dream. My dad always told me, 'If you love what you do, it won't feel like work.' He's right," she said.

Jennifer is proud of being honored for one of her scariest moments in television.

"I won an Emmy award for a story I did in Jacksonville. My photographer and I were sent out to cover a water spout that had formed on the St. Johns River. A power line came down and trapped us inside the car. We shot the story from inside the car! It was scary!" she said.

KPRC 2 is the only channel at Jennifer's house because she is married to KPRC's creative services director.

"We watch a lot of KPRC 2 at our house and hope you do, too," she said.

When she's not working, Jennifer loves reading non-fiction books, such as biographies and autobiographies. Her favorite movie is "Love Actually."

Jennifer is excited to try all of Houston's great restaurants. After only a few weeks here, she found a favorite -- El Tiempo.

"I could eat their guacamole every day," she said.

She burns off that guacamole by running -- an activity she loves. Jennifer finished her first marathon in 2010.
