Jury selection begins for accused murderer

HOUSTON – Jury selection was set to begin Monday in the trial of a man accused of killing a woman nearly 30 years ago.

Last year, Clyde Hedrick, 61, was charged in the 1984 murder of Ellen Ray Beason.

In January, Local 2 Investigates reported on court filings that indicate prosecutors could use information from two other unsolved murders during the trial.

Heidi Marie Fye was found dead in 1983. Laura Miller was killed a year later.

Miller's death led to the creation of Texas EquuSearch.
