HOUSTON – Two children are home safe after they were found wandering in the street in northeast Houston by a KPRC 2 photographer.
The 3-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy were found running toward the Eastex Freeway and Hartwick around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies said the children were being watched by a family friend when they got out. After the children were asleep, deputies said the sitter went to get something to eat and when he returned, the kids were gone.
After spotting the children, our photographer sat with them until deputies arrived. The children then led deputies to their home.
Deputies have arrested the children's caregiver who will face child endangerment charges.
Investigators are trying to find the children's mother, if they are unsuccessful, the children will be placed with Child Protective Services.
