Hazmat spill closes northbound lanes of SH-288 at Southmore Boulevard following crash

HOUSTON – Several lanes on State Highway 288 have been closed due to a hazmat spill involving a heavy truck, according to Houston TranStar.

The crash was reported at 2:45 p.m. No injuries have been reported.

SKY 2 aerials show debris scattered on the highway and the heavy truck involved.

Crews are working to clear debris on multiple northbound lanes of SH-288 at Southmore Boulevard.

Drivers are asked to reroute or expect delays as cleanup is expected to take multiple hours.
