Several businesses damaged after tires catch fire outside Greenspoint-area shopping center

HOUSTON – Houston firefighters say several businesses were damaged after tires outside a tire shop in a Greenspoint area shopping center caught on fire.

The fire happened at a building at 12800 Northborough Drive.

The fire was visible on a Houston Transtar camera located at the North Freeway and Greens Road. Plumes of black smoke could be seen on the camera

The Houston Fire Department said they were paged out to a report of the shopping center on fire. They arrived to find tires outside the tire shop burning.

Several businesses in the shopping center received damage from the fire.

The fire is now out and crews continue to monitor for any hot spots. They don’t anticipate any environmental impact from the fire.

Its unclear whether anyone was inside the tire shop when the fire started, but nobody was hurt.
