At least a dozen residents displaced after apartment fire in northwest Houston

HOUSTON – No injuries have been reported, but about a dozen people have possibly been displaced after a fire at an apartment complex in northwest Houston Tuesday night.

Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department responded to a fire in the 7800 block of Grow Lane around 7:40 p.m.

Firefighters said when they arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the second floor of an apartment. Although initial reports stated someone was trapped inside the apartment, firefighters found no one inside, and no injuries were reported.

The apartment building contained 32 units, and 16 units were damaged in the fire, displacing about 12 residents.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
