Industrial worker killed in reported ‘heavy machinery’ accident in Sugar Land

One person has died following a reported accident at an industrial property in Sugar Land, according to initial information from authorities.

The incident occurred at the McKaskle Industrial Complex, located in the 15200 block of McKaskle Road.

Officials say emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of an accident on the property.

When first responders arrived, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Wednesday afternoon, officials with Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the accident involved “operation of heavy machinery.”

It is unclear at this time what type of accident occurred or whether any workplace safety factors may have contributed.
