HCSO initially said Precinct 3 deputies received a report of a “carjacking,” but later learned that a man showed up at a residence with a car jack and was allegedly disgruntled after a fight with a resident the day before. Investigators said the two individuals know each other.

HCSO said an individual came outside and shot the man. The wounded man was driven to a hospital and later airlifted to another hospital. He is expected to be OK and was listed in stable condition, per authorities at the scene.

The case will be submitted to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for review for possible charges, which is standard procedure, investigators said.
