Man found shot to death inside vehicle near Katy; investigators say 2 men drove victim to house after shooting

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says a man, believed to be in his mid-20s, died after being shot and then driven to a home in the Katy-area Tuesday.

It happened in the 500 block of Everington Drive, near Kingsland Blvd. and the Grand Parkway.

Sgt. Sydney Miller with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division said they were called around 5 p.m. to a report of a man who had been shot. They found the man inside the vehicle dead with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

Miller says investigators learned the man had been driven to the home by two other men and that the shooting happened at a different location outside of the neighborhood. Miller says the driver of the car currently lived at the home he drove the victim to.

Investigators believe the man had been renting the house and they are working to get a search warrant to try and recover any evidence they can find in the home. They are also interviewing the two men who drove the victim to the home to try and find out what happened before they drove to the house.

Miller says they don’t believe there is any threat to residents in the neighborhood. However, anyone with any information is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS(8477).
