HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – An investigation is underway after a woman was found shot to death inside a home near Crosby.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at a residence in the 17800 block of Adlong Johnson Road, near U.S. 90.

Maj. Katrib with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the incident started at 3:48 p.m. when deputies responded to the home after a woman called and asked to meet with a deputy.

When deputies arrived, Katrib said the woman told them she had just killed her granddaughter and her boyfriend. Deputies entered the home and found a woman, believed to be in her 20s, dead with apparent gunshot wounds. They did not find a male victim at the scene and said they do not believe there was one.

“At this point, we don’t have any indication that a boyfriend even exists but we are still actively pursuing all information just to make sure,” Katrib said.

Katrib also said they do not believe the woman found dead inside the home is actually the suspect’s granddaughter.

The couple who owned the home were out of town at the time, but the suspect and victim did also live at the home.

“So from what we know, the deceased female is like a granddaughter to the couple who live here but not by blood,” Katrib said.

Katrib also said the suspect is potentially someone the couple met online that they allowed to live at the home. She is reportedly in her 50s.

There was a call earlier in the day from the home by the suspect.

“We had a call at this house earlier in the day at approximately 1:30 p.m., the suspect was just saying she was seeing demons and stuff of that nature,” Katrib said.

However, Katrib said they did not have enough information to go further and deputies asked all the right questions.

“They did ask all the right questions, there wasn’t enough information for them to proceed with an emergency detention order so they cleared the call,” Katrib said.
