HOUSTON – Police pressed charges Wednesday against a man arrested after skeletal remains were found in southwest Houston.
Houston authorities have accused Jeffery Solomon, 21, for the death of Darius Gatlin, 28.

Officers said a group of people found Gatlin's remains Oct. 16 around 2 p.m. in a forested area near 7100 Jetty Lane. The people were walking when they smelled a foul odor and followed it to human remains covered in dirt.
Investigators said the victim was killed by blunt force and sharp force trauma. They were able to identify Gatlin — who was reported missing in September — using DNA testing.
Solomon was arrested Tuesday.
