2 women, man arrested in drugs and weapons bust in NE Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Three people were arrested after a warrant was served at a home Wednesday in northeast Harris County.

Deputies served a warrant for a drugs and weapons charge at a mobile home on Apache Lane near FM 1942. When officers arrived, a man ran out of the house, got into a Ford Mustang and took off, deputies said.

“There was a lot of cars coming and I knew they could not be the people that were living here,” said a neighbor who didn’t reveal his identity.

No cars were coming in and out of the driveway on Apache near FM 1942 on Thursday.

Windows were busted out and debris was scattered in the yard.

"You know that it’s not friends, it’s drug activity,” he said.

The driver lost control and ran the car into a ditch, then ran into a field, deputies said.

Deputies seized drugs and weapons from inside the mobile home and arrested two women and a man.

Deputies, a K-9 unit and a DPS Helicopter searched for the man.

Several agencies were involved, including the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, their High Risk Operations Unit and the ATF.

The neighbor said he’s been waiting for peace in his neighborhood.

“I walk every morning and I would come by here and I would pray and say, ‘Lord, if there’s drug activity, put a stop to it’ and I thank the Lord that he did answer my prayers."

The man arrested faced charges of possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a gun.

The women were charged with tampering with evidence, because investigators said they destroyed items when deputies served the search warrant.

Investigators had not released their names.
