Houston International Boat Show underway at NRG Center

HOUSTON – The 60th annual Houston International Boat Show started Friday.

It's the largest indoor boat show in the country and runs through Jan. 10. It fills all 650,000 square feet at NRG Center.

"Everything from small, convenient throw-in-the-back-of-the-truck kind of kayaks up to $3,000 propulsion kayak so it's anything in-between. Stand-up paddle-boards are very big this year, and they're fishing from them," Camille Null, of Fishing Tackle Unlimited said.

Some of the boats are big enough that you could live aboard -- complete with a full bathroom, stateroom and top deck ready for cruising. Just add gas, which sellers remind you is less expensive this year.

"Trawlers are typical boats that people will travel the great loop or longer trips on," Dave Foulkrod, of Nautic Group, said. "But nowadays, they're changing the design where they're getting a little more. Bow and stem thruster make it easier to drive. Generator, air-conditioned cabin and all the comforts of home inside."

If it has anything to do with boats, fishing or RVs and hunting, you will probably find it at the boat show.

Entry to the boat show costs $10 for adults and $4 for kids 4-12 years old.
