HOUSTON – A man was shot to death Wednesday at an apartment complex after attempting to rob another man, police said.
According to police, a man was sitting in the courtyard of the Woods on Lamonte apartment complex around 1 a.m. when a 22-year-old man walked up to him, pointed a gun in his face and demanded him to hand over his wallet.
The man refused, and a physical altercation began, according to police.
During the struggle, the man got the robber's gun away from him and shot him in the stomach in self-defense, police said.
The 22-year-old attempted robber died at the scene, police said.
According to police, the case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
