Man sought in Montgomery County for stealing wallets, firearms from cars

Many vehicle burglaries, thefts reported; burglar caught on camera, sheriff says

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Five vehicles in the Bentwater neighborhood were broken into on Oct. 10, with numerous items, including wallets and firearms, reportedly stolen, deputies said Tuesday.

Three days later, deputies were called to investigate eight car burglaries in the Seven Coves neighborhood. All of the vehicles targeted had been left unlocked, and the stolen items included wallets and guns. At least one vehicle was stolen, but it was later recovered, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Two days after that, on Oct. 15, investigators learned of vehicles that had been burglarized in the Point Aquarius neighborhood, off FM 1097. Six cars had been entered and one was taken. More wallets and guns were missing from some of the vehicles, officials said.

Deputies are looking to identify the man who committed these crimes, whose image was caught on home security footage.

The Oct. 10 burglaries took place off FM 1097. The Oct. 13 thefts happened off FM 830. Deputies were able to obtain fingerprints and camera footage pertaining to those eight burglaries.

Detectives are following up on numerous leads.

People are advised to take their keys, lock their cars and keep valuables out of sight, Sheriff Rand Henderson said.
