HOUSTON – The 2017 annual Super Bowl breakfast started at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The breakfast featured the presentation of the Bart Starr award by Super Bowl champion coach Tony Dungy.
The award, voted on by players, honors outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.
This year's winner, New England Patriots wide receiver, Matthew Slater, was chosen by his peers.
Slater's father won the award in 1996, making this the first time a father and son have both won it.
Other former winners include Bruce Matthews, drew Brees, LaDainian tomlinson, Aaron rogers, Peyton Manning
