This Friday, Memorial Hermann will open a public display in honor of Duke, who brought Life Flight to the city.
The memorial showcases Duke's lab coat and photos, along with personal stories written by some of the doctors and helicopter pilots who knew him best.
The current administrative director of Life Flight offered a sneak preview of what you can gain by dropping in to admire these memories:
"I started here in 1981, so I flew in that helicopter there. This is all fresh in my memory and to see it down here the way it's displayed is amazing. It's just from a few people, but everyone who knew Dr. Duke had a story. He believed in me, so it's a big deal."
