Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist was killed Friday in a hit-and-run in southwest Houston.

Police said a 25-year-old man was riding with a friend, who was on another bike, in the 13300 block of Westheimer Road just before 1 a.m. The driver of a gray Toyota pickup truck was driving in the opposite lane, crossed the median and slammed head-on into the motorcyclist's black Suzuki and kept going, police said.

A witness told police the truck was going normal speed when it jerked and went across the median.

The victim was taken to Ben Taub General hospital where he died.

The other motorcyclist was not injured.

Eastbound lanes of Westheimer at Eldridge Parkway were closed as police investigated.
