He went to college in Florida, too. He earned a bachelor of science in business administration in marketing at the University of Florida.
Giovanni said he enjoys covering a wide range of subjects because he learns something new every day.
"My favorite part is the opportunity to connect and build relationships with people in various professions and backgrounds," he said.
When he's not chasing down a new lead on a story, Giovanni enjoys watching movies and reading. His favorite actors are Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Will Ferrell.
"I quote the Godfather and Anchorman equally and often," he said. "Two of my favorites are Marlon Brando's 'A man that doesn't spend time with his family is no real man at all,' and 'Sixty percent of the time, it works ... every time,' from Paul Rudd."
Giovanni has been checking out the dining scene in Houston. So far, he's a big fan of Ragin' Cajun. He also enjoys experimenting in his own kitchen.
Giovanni said he spends much of his time playing basketball, football, tennis, golf and running.
