KATY, Texas – One person was taken to the hospital after a crash involving a Harris County Sheriff's deputy patrol car in Katy.
It happened Friday near the intersection of Fry and Westfield Parkway Drive.
Deputies said a suspected drunken driver, who attempted to make a left turn off Fry Road, slammed into a deputy, who was driving the opposite direction on Fry Road.
"He said he had been at work earlier and got out of work and had a couple of drinks. I guess he was either headed home or to a friend's house," said Sgt. Mike Harvey, of the Sheriff's Office.
The deputy was not hurt or taken to a hospital. Deputies said the other driver was taken to hospital and complained of neck and chest pain.
The other driver had a suspended license and no proof of insurance. Charges against him are pending.
