Police investigate shooting in Pearland neighborhood

PEARLAND, Texas – The Pearland Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide, after a husband and wife were found dead in their home Friday.

Police said they received a call at about 6:30 a.m. of a shooting at a residence in the 1100 block of Brookhaven Court. When they arrived on scene they found the bodies of Tansey Escobar, 31, and Oscar Escobar, 32.

Police say a man and a juvenile were also inside the house at the time of the shooting. The man was released, after being interviewed by Pearland Police. The juvenile was released to family members.

A neighbors tells KPRC 2 the couple had lived in the home for about three years with their young daughter.

"The man was gone a lot because he had some kind of work down in Colombia from what I understand," the neighbor said.

She said the family was quiet and never caused any problems in the neighborhood. Just last week the neighbor says she spoke to the wife, and the wife said she and her husband were separating.

"I said, 'Oh I’m so sorry to hear that.' And she said, ‘'It's OK’,” the neighbor said. "She said they were married 10 years and he never wanted to be here. He wanted to stay in Colombia."
