Arnold's work covers a range of issues from exposing government waste and corruption to the impact border violence has on Houston. This work has prompted changes in the law and policy both locally and nationally.
Arnold's continuous work into the links between drug violence along the border and Houston earned him one of three Emmy awards. Arnold's other Emmy awards were earned for work that exposed waste and mismanagement in the Houston Fire Department and the less-than-stellar work ethic of a veteran city official.

The State Bar of Texas has also given two awards to Arnold for work that examined loopholes in safety regulations in the construction industry and the policies surrounding how police executed search warrants based on information from confidential informants.

On a national level, Arnold's long-term investigation into the treatment of those suffering from mental illness earned him the Mental Health America's National Media Award. The National Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization also recognized Arnold for work that exposed how a legal loophole allowed suspected drunken drivers to avoid criminal charges by not having their blood drawn after serious accidents.

Arnold graduated from the University of Houston and began his career as a radio reporter for KNUZ/KQUE and then KTRH before joining Local 2. In that time, Arnold has tackled issues involving the Texas Lottery Commission's selling of scratch-off tickets after top prizes were awarded, the treatment of the mentally and physically disabled living in state schools, the licensing and drug testing of commercial truck drivers, the state's hiring practices regarding employees of nursing homes, human trafficking and the security weaknesses surrounding some of our country's most sensitive pieces of infrastructure.

Arnold has also been dispatched to cover events with national and international implications such as the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center and the BP oil spill. During his career, Arnold has also covered nearly two dozen hurricanes and tropical storms along the Gulf Coast and in Mexico.

In his spare time, Arnold enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their "children" -- Gracie, Molly and Fritzi. Arnold is also a movie buff, loves reading (horror is his favorite genre) and playing video games (guilty pleasure).
Arnold is also a long time member of Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc.
