GALVESTON, Texas – It looks like changes are in store for a popular fishing destination and people aren't happy.
Galveston County commissioners voted to begin measures to close the Rollover Pass, and with that comes eminent domain.

Dozens argued the Rollover is a natural habitat that brings a lot of business to the area, but still the state is moving forward to close it.
The Rollover Pass is an opening between the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston East Bay. Fish come and go, but the state says it's causing erosion and silting problems in the shipping lanes.
Rollover Pass has been there for 60 years.
The plan now is to build a park and fishing pier after they close the channel but there's no set time for when this process will begin.
