Wrongly delivered package prompts hazmat call at Greenway Plaza building

HOUSTON – A package that was delivered to the wrong office Friday resulted in a hazmat investigation at a Greenway Plaza office building.

The incident was reported about 10:30 a.m. at 3 Greenway Plaza, near Edloe Drive and Southwest Freeway.

An FBI spokeswoman said a package that was supposed to be delivered to a medical office wound up at an accounting office by mistake. Employees became concerned and called for help.

This is the second such report in the Greenway area this week.

On Tuesday, two people were hospitalized when a powdery substance was found in an item mailed to the Phoenix Tower office of Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign. That is about a block away from Friday’s incident. Initial tests of the substance found indicated it was not hazardous.
