Freebies for Veterans: Deals for Veterans Day

HOUSTON – A number of businesses are offering deals and freebies for veterans and active duty service members this Veterans Day around the Houston area.

The deals are only good at participating locations and those taking part will need a valid military I.D.

Lone Star Flight Museum: 

The Lone Star Flight Museum is offering all active, retired, reserve and veteran U.S. Marines reduced price admission on Friday, November 10, in honor of the U.S. Marine Corps 167th Anniversary. On Saturday, November 11, the Lone Star Flight Museum is offering all military veterans free admission as a “thank you” for their service. 

Houston METRO: 

All veterans and active military service personnel are invited to ride METRO for free on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017. 

Perry’s Steahouse & Grill:

Free three-course pork chop dinner on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are required. Military I.D. is also required. All U.S. active or former military patrons must be accompanied by at least one paying guest who orders a dinner entrée or our 3-course pork chop Sunday Special.

The complimentary meal is only available to U.S. active and former military. This offer does not include tax and gratuity.

Main Event:

Veterans play and eat free on Veterans Day at Main Event. All active-duty and retired military personnel invited to enjoy a free meal and complimentary FUNcard on Nov. 11. Play games and eat for free from open till 5 p.m. All military personnel receive a complimentary $10 FUNcard that can be used on all Main Event games, and can choose one free entrée from the special Veterans Day menu, featuring: Grilled Top Sirloin with fries, Teriyaki Salmon, Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, Cobb Salad, Bacon Cheddar Burger with fries, wings with fries and chicken tenders with fries. Valid military ID or proof of service required. Veteran must show proof of military service with either a military ID card, Veterans Affairs card or discharge papers. Not valid with any other offer. Limit one per day/per center/per military member. Valid from open to 5 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2017.

Applebee’s:

Applebee’s invites all veterans and active service members to visit their neighborhood Applebee’s on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, for a free meal.

Active and retired armed services members receive free small traditional or boneless wings and side of fries for dine-in. At participating locations only. Offer valid for one small order of traditional or boneless wings and a side of fries. Dine-in only on November 11, 2017. No substitutions, upgrades, or add-ons. Starbucks: 

Any Veteran, active duty military and military spouse who visits Starbucks on Nov. 11 will be treated to a free tall coffee. Through November 15, for every Veterans Day Starbucks Card purchased, Starbucks will donate $5 to Veterans organizations strengthening our communities through service: Team Rubicon, Team Red, White & Blue, and The Mission Continues. Also through November 15, Starbucks partners (employees) can donate their weekly coffee bag benefit to troops serving overseas, building on the 60,000 pounds of coffee (1.5 million cups!) shipped to service members overseas last year.

Dunkin Donuts:

On Saturday, Nov. 11, anyone who shows a military ID at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide will be offered a free donut of their choice with no purchase necessary. While supplies last. Limit one per customer.

Golden Corral:

Golden Corral will be recognizing the military on Monday, November 13. All active and former US military members are invited to enjoy a free "Thank you" dinner from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Houston Anheuser-Busch Tour Center: 

The Houston Brewery and Tour Center will offer a 25 percent discount on all items in the gift shop for veterans, active military, first responders, police, and firefighters. Complimentary brewery tours for veterans, active military, first responders, police and firefighters and their families. Veterans and active military members will be presented with a custom-made commemorative Budweiser military coin.

IHOP:

The free offer on Friday, November 10, is available to retired and active duty military personnel with proof of military service from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at participating IHOP locations nationwide. Proof of military service includes: U.S. Uniformed Services ID Card, U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), veterans organization card (e.g., American Legion, VFW, etc.), photograph of self in U.S. military uniform, wearing uniform, DD214, military dog tags, and citation or commendation. This offer is dine-in only.

Little Caesar’s:

Little Caesars Pizza is offering all United States armed forces veterans and active military a free $5 lunch combo from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, at participating stores nationwide this Veterans Day.

McDonald’s:

Participating McDonald’s restaurants in the Greater Houston Area will honor military servicemen and servicewomen with a free extra value meal this Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11. On November 11, all active and retired military members can receive a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage; and from November 12 through December 31, military families can receive 15% off their check.

Red Lobster:

Red Lobster is offering a free appetizer or dessert on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Guests only need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer. Ruby Tuesday: Former and active duty service members to enjoy a free appetizer on Nov. 11, 2017.

Texas Roadhouse:

On November 11, every Texas Roadhouse location nationwide will serve free meals to all active and veteran military personnel.

Dollar General:

Dollar General is offering an 11 percent discount on qualifying purchases to veterans, active military and their immediate family members both in stores and online on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Target:

Target offering a Veterans Day military discount from Nov. 7-11, 2017. All active duty military, veterans and their spouse and/or dependent children are eligible to receive a 10 percent discount on purchases in store and on Target.com (some exclusions apply; discount via single-use coupon). This discount is an opportunity for Target to demonstrate our deep appreciation for all men and women in uniform, as well as the family members who support them.

Toys R Us:

Customers with a valid Military identification card will receive 15% off in-store purchases from Saturday, November 4 through Saturday, November 11.

Walgreens:

Veterans and military personnel, as well as family members, with Walgreens Balance Rewards card get a 20% discount on Nov. 11. The reward is on eligible, regular-price items in store only. Get the details from Walgreens.
