Two dogs saved from west Houston house fire

HOUSTON – A fire at a home in the 4200 block of Spencer Highway was quickly extinguished Thursday by the Houston Fire Department.

The fire broke out in the living room around 10:30 p.m., investigators said. Officials said the family was not home at the time but firefighters were able to rescue the family’s two dogs that were trapped inside.

The home suffered major damage and a car also caught fire. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
