Eccentric glamour shots are nothing new to the Internet — especially from celebrities.

So why is everyone going crazy over this upside-down picture of award-winning singer Adele?

On initial glance the picture seems normal, and all facial features appear to be turned in a downward direction. However, look again and you'll notice Adele's eyes and lips are actually still turned right-side up.

It's called the Thatcher illusion.

According to ThatcherEffect.com, the human brain isn't capable of properly processing an upside-down picture of a face. The site said the brain isn't aware it's getting the image wrong, so the viewer gets a confident feeling that everything is alright. The effect was first demonstrated in 1980 by psychologist Peter Thompson, who thought it would be interesting to test his theory on a picture of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Turn the photo right-side up, and Adele looks like a Picasso original.

The picture went viral after being posted on Turn Your Phone, a Twitter page dedicated to turning celebrity photos upside down. The page has flipped everyone from Nicki Minaj to Hillary Clinton.Turn Your Phone also takes requests.

We decide to join in the fun and created our own Thatcher illusions of KPRC's Sara Donchey and Keith Garvin.

And now right-side up.
