HOUSTON – Call it the dark side to all the Black Friday madness: A heated argument over a parking space turned violent.
Two women were caught on video trading blows, then two other women joined in and started fighting with each other.
The altercation happened around 1 a.m. at the Houston Premium Outlets near Cypress.
A witness, Jared Fontenot, said he shot 15 seconds of the brawl with his smartphone.
“I just couldn't believe they were fighting like this on a day where we're supposed to give thanks,” Fontenot said.
Fontenot said he backed off before the situation escalated, because he had small children with him and didn’t want them to see such alarming behavior. He said he had just parked and was working his way toward the stores when fists started flying.
He said that parking was so bad, it took him an hour just to find a spot.
“One of the women fell on the floor and the other people jumped on top of her and started hitting her. There was an off-duty security officer that was working, but no one was in the area at the time,” Fontenot said.
Fontenot shared the video with KPRC on Facebook and said it’s a prime example of how not to behave, whether it’s the holidays or not.
“It just shows that if you're going to go out and fight the crowds, you need to be prepared to have more patience,” Fontenot said.
