Woman shoots, kills husband in Spring, police say

SPRING, Texas – A man is dead after police say his wife shot him in Montgomery County. 

Around 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to police, they got a call from a woman in the Spring Trails area in Spring saying she has been at a friend’s house when an argument started between the friend and her husband.

The woman also told police the man had a gun and was threatening his wife with it, police said.
Shortly after the woman’s call came in, police got a call from the wife saying her husband was beating her and had a gun, police said.

According to authorities, at some point during the altercation, the wife took the gun away from the man when he put it down and used it against him.

When police arrived, the woman had shot and killed her husband, police said.

Two children younger than 10 were in the home at the time of the shooting but did not witness it, police said.

They were taken by Child Protective Services while authorities finish their investigation. 

Officers said charges are being considered and could possibly be referred to a grand jury.
