Wednesday will be less humid in Houston thanks to cold front

HOUSTON – A cold front that is moving through Southeast Texas on Wednesday morning will bring much drier air into the Houston area by the afternoon.

Meteorologist Britta Merwin said a few showers are not out of the question Wednesday morning, mainly north of Interstate 10. Those showers should be east of the region by lunchtime.

Clear skies will arrive in the afternoon. While temperatures will still be warm – in the mid-80s for highs – the humidity will be noticeably lower.

A coastal flood warning is in effect until 4 p.m. for Brazoria, Chambers and Galveston counties. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for the remainder of the Southeast Texas coast. The National Weather Service warned of increased tides and wave run-up courtesy of Hurricane Michael, which will make landfall in Florida by Wednesday afternoon.

Another cold front that is forecast for the weekend will bring another chance of rain and a blast of truly fall-like air.
