Houston PD promotes nearly 40 officers to leadership positions

HOUSTON – Some new leadership changes are coming to the Houston Police Department as Chief Troy Finner promoted nearly 40 of his officers.

During a public ceremony Friday morning, Chief Finner promoted two of his Commanders to Assistant Chief, one Lieutenant was named Commander, eight sergeants became Lieutenants and 25 other officers were promoted to Sergeants.

According to a press release, five civilian employees with HPD were recognized for their supervisory ranks.

The ceremony was held at the Houston Police Academy on Aldine Westfield.
