Man accused of killing 74-year-old woman at W. Houston senior living apartments

HOUSTON – A 66-year-old man has been arrested, accused of shooting and killing a 74-year-old woman at a West Houston senior living apartment complex.

Clifton John Allen, 66, is charged with murder in connection to the death of Carol Webber, 74.

Webber was found dead inside her apartment at the Treemont Senior Living Center located at 2501 Westerland Drive on April 13.

Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to the complex and found Webber unresponsive on the floor of her apartment. She was pronounced dead by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Webber had suffered a gunshot wound.

During the investigation, authorities were able to identify Allen as a suspect in the case. HPD says Allen and Webber had previously been involved in a dating relationship.

Allen was taken into custody on Friday and has since been charged with murder.
