HOUSTON – Houstonians are doing their part to help make sure people in Flint, Michigan, have safe drinking water.
The Black Heritage Society is working with the Houston Fire Department and the Houston Food Bank to collect bottled water. There is also a need for water filters, shower filters, hand sanitizers and disposable eating supplies.

"Houston has grown to be a great city and I know all of us will answer the call to help these people in Flint, Michigan, with '100,000+ Cases for Flint, Michigan,'" Ovide Duncantell, Executive Director of The Black Heritage Society, said.
People in Flint can't drink the water because of dangerous levels of lead in it.
Donations will continue at eight different fire departments across the city through February.
