Houston Life Favorite Crawfish Contest Official Rules
• General. By participating in the Houston Life Favorite Crawfish contest (“Contest”), brought to you by KPRC (“Station”) and Karbach Brewing Company (the “Sponsor”), all Nominators, Voters and Candidates acknowledge and agree to all of these official Contest rules (“Official Rules”). NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. By entering the Contest, all Nominators, Voters and Candidates agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in these Official Rules, or the Contest itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of the Station, whose decisions are binding and final. Failure to comply with these Official Rules or any Station instructions relating to the Contest specific rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. Participation constitutes the full and unconditional agreement of Nominator/Candidate/Voter to these Official Rules and Station’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
• Eligibility.
The Contest is open to Candidates [operating in any of the Categories] that, at the time of Nomination (and, if applicable, Finalist and Winner selection), have a physical location in the Houston Designated Market Area (“Houston DMA”) and that are currently open and legally licensed to operate as a restaurant at the location. Nominators and Voters must be 21 or older and legal residents of the Houston DMA. Nominators must be a KPRC 2 Insider, which is free to join at www.click2houston.com/insider. Employees of Station and Sponsor and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, advertising and promotion agencies, and members of these employees’ immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) and those living in the same household with these employees, are not eligible to participate or win.
• Candidate Nomination.
The Contest nominations begins at 9:00am CST on April 1, 2022. Deadline for the nominations is 11:59pm CST on April 10, 2022 (“Nomination Period”). Station’s time clock shall be the official time clock of the Nomination Period. To nominate, KPRC 2 Insiders must find the link to enter a nomination for the Houston Life Favorite Crawfish Contest on the KPRC 2 Insider profile dashboard page once logged in at www.click2houston.com/insider. Nominators may nominate one (1) Candidate per hour during Nomination Period. Station may disregard Nominations in excess of 1per hour. Nominators must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail or telephone account from the KPRC 2 Insider account from which the Nomination is made. All Nominations are subject to the Station’s determination of eligibility, and Nominations/Candidates determined to be ineligible will not be added to the ballot (“Ballot”). Because of spelling errors and variations on names, Station will attempt to standardize the Nominations and Ballots to match the correct Candidates.
A total of (10) ten Candidates with the highest number of valid nominations during the Nomination Period (“Finalists”) will be notified of their nomination via email and/or telephone on [Insert Date] and announced on Houston Life on [Insert Date]. Finalists will be compiled and posted as part of the Ballot for members of the general public to vote for their favorite Finalist on [Insert Date] at [Insert link to the website where voters will be able to view nominations]. Nominations of multiple locations of the same franchise will not be eligible Finalists. Only the location of the Finalist franchise with the highest number of nominations will be an eligible Finalist. Station reserves the right to delete any ineligible nominations in its discretion. The nomination list will remain the property of the Station.
•Voting.
The Contest voting begins at 9:00am CST on April 14, 2022. Deadline to vote is 4:00 pm CST on April 21, 2022 (the “Voting Period”). Station’s time clock shall be the official time clock of the Contest. To vote, you must fill out the Contest voting form provided on the Station’s contest page at click2houston.com/sponsored/2022/04/01/tell-us-readers-where-can-we-get-the-best-crawfish-in-town/ (“Voting Form”).
Participants may cast one (1) vote per hour during the Voting Period. Votes in excess of 1 per hour will not be counted. Participants who vote must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail or telephone account associated with the vote . Any votes suspected by the Station to be fraudulent may be disqualified, in the Station’s sole discretion and could affect the Winner selection.
Nominations/Votes generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Nominations/Votes that are inaccurate, incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. Nominations/Votes become the property of the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned except as disclosed in these Official Rules. By checking the relevant box or selection on the Contest page, Nominator/Candidate/Voter agrees that the Sponsor(s) may contact them via email with information about pre-selected goods or services. If you do not wish to receive these materials do not check the relevant box on the Contest page. If at any time you do not wish to receive these materials in the future, please use the unsubscribe procedures contained in the email message.
Station may disqualify any Nomination/Vote that it concludes, in its sole discretion, conveys false, inaccurate or fraudulent information. Any Nominations/Votes determined by Station, in its sole discretion, to include content that is lewd, reflects inappropriate bias, sexually explicit, racist, bigoted, prejudicial or harassing will be void, causing for the Nominator/Candidate/Voter to be disqualified and triggering further action as the Station deems necessary. The Station will disqualify any Nomination/Vote that violates the eligibility requirements.
• Selection of Winner.
The Finalist receiving the highest number of votes during the Voting Period will be deemed the potential winner on April 21, 2022. The potential winner will be announced on the Station’s contest page and during Houston Life on April 22, 2022, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Station reserves the right to contact all Nominators/Candidates to confirm eligibility.
In addition, Station will attempt to notify the potential winner via the telephone number or email address listed on the winner’s website or otherwise associated with the winner online . Potential Contest winner must completely and accurately execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, publicity release and/or prize acceptance form (“Forms”) within two (2) days of winner Notification (Station reserves the right to require quicker compliance for time sensitive prizes), or prize(s) may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected, time permitting. Potential winners may be required to submit a copy of a valid government photo ID in addition to any Forms. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to accurately complete and/or submit any required Forms within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, refused or declined, the potential winner may forfeit the prize and another potential winner may be selected from among the remaining eligible received, time permitting. A POTENTIAL PRIZE WINNER IS NOT A WINNER UNTIL HIS OR HER ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES HAS BEEN VERIFIED BY THE STATION. The official Candidate list will remain the property of Station and will not be distributed except at the Station’s sole discretion.
• Prize (1). The winner will be featured Live on Houston Life on April 28, 2022, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. CST. There will be no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prize, except at the sole discretion of Station, which may substitute prizes of comparable value. Limit one prize per person and per household. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes related to the award of the prize are solely the responsibility of the winner. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash and may not be transferred, sold, bartered or auctioned. Resale of any prize component is prohibited. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Properly claimed prize will be awarded provided a sufficient number of eligible Entries are received, but in no event will Sponsor(s) award more prizes than are provided for in the Official Rules. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. Public recognition has no retail value.
• Disclaimer and Representations. Winner(s) assumes all liability for any injuries or damages caused or claimed to be caused by his or her participation in the Contest and/or the acceptance and/or use of any prize, and releases the Station and Sponsor(s) and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees, from any such liability. Neither the Station nor the Sponsor(s), nor their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees are responsible for: the failure of any Nomination/Vote to be received by the Station due to computer failures of any kind, traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, telecommunications, network, electronic, telephone or mobile service outages, delays, busy signals, or any equipment malfunctions or other technical difficulties that may prevent the Station from receiving any Nomination/Vote; Nominations/Votes that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, late or damaged; any injury or damage to the Nominator/Candidate/Voter’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or accessing or downloading any materials related to the Contest; or any human errors, any inaccurate transcription of Nomination/Vote information, errors in any promotional or marketing materials or errors in these Official Rules. If applicable, text message and data rates may apply, and the Station is not responsible for any fees incurred by an Nominator/Candidate/Voter.
Proxy voting is not allowed. No one may purchase or otherwise provide incentives for Nominations or votes. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed, script, macro, or any other automated means or similar Nomination methods or agents, vote exchange websites, vote “farming” or other method to vote or unfairly increase votes, as determined by Station in its sole discretion, is prohibited and will void all Nominations/Votes submitted or orchestrated by that participant. Complimentary products or services offered in exchange for Nominations or votes is prohibited. No Candidate may pressure its employees or contractors, or their families, to nominate it or cast a vote on its behalf in the Contest. Nominations/Votes submitted in response to threats, coercion, or intimidation are void if discovered by Station. A Candidate may not collude with any Nominator or Voter to violate these Official Rules or participate in or actively encourage such activity, whether directly or indirectly.
The Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the Nomination/Voting process or the operation of the Station’s website or the operation of the Contest. Failure to comply with the Official Rules may result in Nominator/Candidate/Voter’s disqualification and/or forfeiture of any prize or prizes. All decisions of the Station’s management with respect to the Contest are final.
Station reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Contest if it is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, as a result of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, or for any reason whatsoever. The Station reserves the right to make changes in these Official Rules, including, without limitation, the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement or posting. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any event related to the Contest or prize is delayed, rescheduled, postponed, cancelled or has a change of venue, the Station reserves the right, but is not obligated, to cancel or modify the Contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
Contest participation constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’s name, home city and state, likeness and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation. The winner’s name and city of residence will be posted online and mailed to those who request it.

• Winner Announcement. For the name of the winner(s), send a self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt within 60 days following the end of the Contest Voting Period to Station at 8181 Southwest Freeway Houston, TX 77074, Attn: Contest Winner List, or request it online at desk@kprc.com. Be sure to specify the name of the contest for which you are requesting the list of winner(s).
